It’s hard to say if the Pittsburgh Steelers are done building their roster for the 2024 football season. However, one thing is certain. They are not going to add a big-time playmaker at wide receiver for the moment, as some outlets reported they would on Monday.

Rumors and speculation began Monday after general manager Omar Khan’s comments following the Steelers’ draft. When asked about his wide receiver room and if the Steelers were done now that rookie Roman Wilson was coming in, Khan said if an opportunity came up, then the team might look into it.

“Yeah, we’ll see. I’ve said it before,” Khan said. “If there’s ever an opportunity to improve the team, we’re going to look at it, and if it makes sense, we’re going to go after it. But we structured Alex’s [Highsmith] deal, and like you said, it puts us in a position to be flexible with some things if there’s an opportunity to do something.”

Some media outlets reported rumors on Monday that the San Francisco 49ers were looking to move Brandon Aiyuk after the playmaking wide receiver asked to be traded. The Steelers were, again, linked to the rumors as a possible landing destination.

Other rumors had the Steelers linked to the 49ers in another trade, this time for wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Some speculated whether the Steelers were planning something with Denver for wideout Courtland Sutton.

Khan shut down all of those rumors on Tuesday, at least for the time being.

“I heard about it. I did not exactly see it. There is nothing going on right now,” Khan said on the Pat McAfee Show Tuesday.  I am not exactly sure what the verbiage was of what was reported, but there is nothing to report.”
